The majority of the Asia-Pacific developing countries embarked on export-led industrialization in the 1970s and 1980s. By analysing CRF (contribution ratios of production) in comparisons between these countries, our empirical findings from cross-country Input Output analysis over the period of 1975-1985 suggest, among other things, that these countries have succeeded in introducing policy measures to bring about a shift from import-substitution to export-led economies.
