In this paper, the mechanical behaviores of soil mixed with paper are described. Triaxial compression test is used for the purpose in this study. The test conditions chosen are unconsolidated undrained condition and consolidated drained codition. The specimens are unsaturated. The following results are obtained, 1) The strength of soil for CD-test are larger than the one for UU-test, but only a little. 2) The unconfined strength increases with the increasing of mixture content of paper. 3) In the range of the mixture content of paper smaller than 10%, the strength behavior is nearlly same. In the lager range, the behavior is varied extremely.
