Dynamic Analysis of the Adhered Liquid in Withdrawing a Vertical Plate from a Liquid Bath

The thickness of the liquid adhered onto a vertical plate which is continuously withdrawn from bath of the liquid is examined theoretically and experimentally. A theoretical expression of the adhered liquid is derived by integrating Navier-Stokes equation, where both of Reynols number and capillary number are not small. The thickness of the adhered liquid layer is experimentally determined by means of a photographic technique as well. The theoretical results are in good agreement with experimental data.
