To get a rapidly convergent Fourier series approximation for the given bandpass magnitude and delay characteristics, and appropriately extrapolated characteristic must be added just outside the transmission band to form a repetition interval. This paper proposes a method to determine the most suitable extrapolation band characteristics for the given bandpass magnitude and delay characteristics using the Genetic Algorithm. In the proposed method, those extrapolation band characteristics are decided so that the degree of filter is lower. An example shows that the proposed method can offer the surprisingly reduced Fourier Coefficients.
