This paper discusses the problem of robust H_∞ control for the linear system with structured time varying uncertainties possibly in whole coefficient matrices of relevant state space representations. The solution is derived to this problem via the small gain theorem. A method for reducing the proper controllers into strictly proper ones by means of Youla's free parameter is also proposed by deriving the condition under which robust H_∞ controllers become strictly proper. An illustrative numerical example is given to show a typical robustness property in systems controlled via the proposed procedure.
