Previously, R. Morrow simulated the phenomenon of positive corona discharge in SF_6 gas using the FCT (Flux-Corrected Transport) method for one-dimensional continuity equations, in which a single channel model was applied and only the drift of longitudinal charged particle and the diffusion of electron were considered. Because of his restricted simulation the behavior of charged particles is not well understood. In this paper, the authors simulate the discharge phenomenon using multichannel models considering the motion of the charged particles in the radial direction, namely, the transverse drift of charged particles and the transverse diffusion of electrons. Discussion is made for the discharge characteristics of SF_6 gas in more detail, considering drift and diffusion in both directions. Accordingly, the discharge characteristics of the gas become more clearly.
