The effects of the average cooling rate between liquidus and solidus on the microstructure of Inconel 713C alloy are investigated. Four cast samples with different dimensions are produced by investment casting method where the average cooling rate in 0.06 to 4.4K/sec. The dendrite arm spacing (D.A.S.) of these samples decreases with the increase of the average cooling rate (V_a). The relation between D.A.S. and V_a is expressed as follows; D.A.S.=32V_a^<-0.31> The rod and plate-like carbides containing Mo, Nb and Ti are observed mainly in the eutectic zone in the samples. The quantity of these carbides decrease with the increase of V_a.
