• The form of simple auxiliary electrodes attached to two parallel plates system deflecting charged particles is determined by a comformal mapping technique so that the end effect of the electric field can be cancelled. It is shown that the uniformity of the field is much improved only by a small modification of the shapes of the parallel plates at their ends.
