Conceptional design of a system for feedback control of the plasma position in a toroidal discharge is described. It is expected that a resistive shell and an external vertical field controlled by a system consisting of a digital computer and phase-controlled thyristors can suppress the plasma displacement down to 10% of that in the case where the external control system is not operated.
