Radial propagations of a drift wave excited near a plasma column in a uniform magnetic field B, are investigated under two metal or insulator end plates. For the insulator ends, the drift wave propagates across B (radially), while, for the metal ends, it damps abruptly. These results are explained from a short effect of the ends for the wave potential and an enhanced diffusion.
