The innervating sensory neurons to the S-type mechanoreceptive hair of Procambarus clarkii were studied electrophysiologically. The impulse train responses to rectangular stimuli were analyzed with the inter-spike interval histograms and with the correlograms. The sensory units to a single S-type hair were mostly the combination of the A- and V-units. With the increase in stimulus intensity evoked more impulse discharges. The first impulses appeared with a certain fixed latency, while the second impulses did not appear with a certain length of the interval. Properties of impulse trains were discussed in relation to the adaptation process in the nerve cells.
