Water samples were collected and analyzed chemically in the Kanchoncho dambo, Chinena village, central Zambia. Kanchoncho dambo is one of the four main dambos in this village. Water holes are used for irrigation and water supply. Ground water of the water hole which is used infrequently has extremely high δ^<18>O value. The ground water which has high electric conductivity indicates high concentrations of Mg^<2+>, Ca^<2+> and HCO_3^-. The ground water which indicates high pH contains high concentrations of HCO_3^- and Ca^<2+>. The concentration of Na^+ has a mutual relation with the concentration of Cl^-, and HCO_3^- concentration correlates with the concentration of Mg^<2+> and Ca^<2+>. There are two types of ground water in the Kanchoncho dambo: i.e., NaCl type and the bicarbonate type. Correlation coefficient between the δ^<18>O value of water and the altitude of water hole is -0.62. The subsurface water is thought to be evaporated. Chemical factors of ground water in the Kanchoncho dambo are statistically identified using the principal component analysis. The first component explains 43% of the total variance, and shows a alkalinity of ground water. Water holes are classified by using the cluster analysis for the chemical property of sampled water. Six groups are classified by a criterion of the squared Euclidean distance. The ground water of Group-A which situated at the upper area is MgCO_3 type, and Group-B which located at the lower reach shows NaCl type water.
